Festival Essentials

GRRR.

Festival Fashion on clothing websites is slighting annoying me.
I love the clothes, I love the 'festival style' but since when is a maxi skirt and wedges appropriate to wear to a muddy, wet, sweaty music festival. Its fine if you're somewhere lovely like Coachella!!

Now I'm no festival expert. My first experience of a festival was at Reading last year. I don't know if anyone was there or remembers but the weather was HORRENDOUS!

Hello mud!!

So I have decided to do a post about my Festival Essentials before I go to Reading next week...

I will be taking these, my trusty unique hand painted wellies. I had very little notice about going to Reading last year and had such little time to prepare. I looked everywhere for a pair of nice fancy wellies but couldn't find any I liked. So I brought a bog standard green pair and painted them myself. These will 100% be coming to Reading with me this year as I did not take them off last year!
  • You want to keep clean... you take baby wipes! I am not going to stand their in my bikini and tip a bottle of water over my head. I will just sit in my tent and keep clean with the ol' baby wipes! plus they leave you smelling pretty nice for a festival.
  • Obviously a tent. Last year we took at £7.99 Tescos Value tent. I have learnt my lesson. During the 24 hour down poor on the first day my tent flooded. We had to take all our stuff back to my house to dry in the tumble dryer.. including sleeping bags! This year we opted for THIS tent. It has a seperate bedroom meaning wellies do not go in there and space for more than just Sam and I to sit if it rains. We are also taking a double airbed with built in pump (good planning by me there!) and a double sleeping bag.
  • A small bag to keep your essentials in! I just ordered THIS one off of ASOS. In this bag I will cram... my small red camera (as in not a huuuge digital SLR one!), an old mobile phone (would die if I lost my iPhone), money (food, drink, souvineers) and a small pack of tissues and some anti bac hand gel (no joke I would die without these life savers for toilet trips!) I am hoping this will all fit...
I'll also be taking a wine box from France... best idea ever! You can't take bottles in.. so 4 bottles of wine in 1 sort or light box great plan! and I have plastic wine glasses.

Clothes wise I will be taking denim shorts, a couple of tshirts, a skirt, tights, leggings, a raincoat (!!!!!!), hoodies, tracksuit bottoms, underwear and as many pairs of socks that will fit!

Is anyone else going to a festival? What are your essentials? Who are you most looking forward to seeing?

The Future's Bright, The Future's Orange

I have a bit of an orange obsession at the moment. I hate orange flavoured things but I just love love love the colour. I went shopping on Saturday and got myself an orange raincoat! It's amazing, however I will not be wearing it with a green tshirt again as I look like I work at homebase...

 Orange Raincoat - New Look
Cardi - H&M
Top - Next
Leggings - Topshop
Flip Flops - Primark
Orange Kindle, Orange Phone, Orange Bear, Orange Coat...
Even an Orange Hamster Cage.. notice how my Beau actually sat there and posed for a picture!

two weeks worth of shopping!!

So now my Mums working full time we have accidentally started going shopping on Saturdays! This is not good when trying to save for a house. Anyway something I have discovered recently is a love of playsuits. I have brought three in the last 2 weeks.

This ones from Primark. I've had my eye on it for ages (but was never in there in the right size no matter how many Primarks I looked in!) as something to chuck on over my bikini at lunch time and things on holiday. Having 1 black bikini, 1 purple bikini and 1 red and white bikini this is literally the only thing I think matches all of them. So when I finally got my hands on it, it was reduced to £2 from £5 I actually cheered a bit!

The second playsuit I got was another Primark sale bargain at £5 reduced from £13 I HAD to get this. This coral orangy colour is my favourite at the moment! I really like how this looks on and its so comfy!

This one is from Apricot in Debenhams (also stocked in New Look I think). It was in the sale reduced from £25 down to £10. So I've been doing some pretty good bargain hunting I think!

The only thing I'm not sure about with playsuits is going to the toilet, its a massive effort especially when buttons are involved!!

I'm just wondering if any of my lovely readers might be able to give me some advice on blog layouts and headers etc. I know you're all very busy people but if you happen to have any tips and tricks you could share with me I would massively appreciate it.. email me @ lisforlottie@hotmail.co.uk

Thank you!!!

Ta Very Moooch.

Hello!!

I'm afraid I have no pictures to post today. I'm living at the boyfs and haven't taken any photos yet! Just had a few things to say....

001. Thank you so much to everyone who reads and follows this blog! I know its probably a really cheesey thing to say but I really appreciate it, it's nice to know that people read and enjoy my ramblings :) so thanks.
002. Everyone should check out Temporary:Secretary theres some gorgeous jewellery. It's so so cute! I've just ordered a ring from their website. It was so hard to choose just one thing. I'm formulating a wish list in my head! Expect a full post soon...
003. I've got nothing else to do for the rest of the evening so I think I might play around with the blog layout... to stop me from online shopping!!
004. I had a good weekend. Went out on Saturday night, unfortunately the only outfit photo I have is a drunken myspace mirror photo with my friend in spoons which I'm not ready to share with the blogsphere yet! Also thought it would be a good idea to walk about a mile to Subway at about one in the morning... Thank god for flats!!
005. Its mine and Sams 11 month anniversary today... we celebrated by having tuna pasta bake for tea, going to tescos to buy apple juice and watching are now both sitting on our laptops.

Hopefully I'll have something more exciting later on this week :)

Happy June...

I cannot believe how quickly this year is going. I've decided to make some mid year resolutions and use this blog as an attempt to keep them...

- grow my nails again (on going battle...)
- tone up to get a good bikini body before France (in 8 weeks time)
- take more photos
- save save save for that little house I want!!
- learn to cook something other than enchiladas and risotto
- finish my NVQ (by October)

I may add more..

So this week has been quiet at work, I'm currently multitasking by cooking coca cola cupcakes for my boyfriend whilst updating this blog and checking my emails.

I'm off next week though, I can't wait, my first proper break since I started... I'm off to Center Parcs with Mum, Dad, Sam (boyfriend), Ben (brother) and Bryony (brothers girlfriend). We've got some good stuff booked.. Salsa, Family Quiz, Sam's doing Falconry and Laser Quest.. OUTDOORS.. which is basically paintballing with no pain. So expect a picture heavy post when I get back.

I've been playing around on ASOS fashion finder recently. I enjoy putting the outfits together and wishing I could afford them. I'm off shopping tomorrow so I will post some pics of the goodies I buy.

Toby La Rone..

Hello,

I know I posted once already, but I didn't want to go on about nice happy things in a sort of sad thinky post. So anway an update..

I got myself on of the Grupon ASOS vouchers, £9 for a £20 voucher, now I just have to decide what to buy with it! I'm thinking maybe THIS Red Linen Blazer, although I've seen one in H&M and I think I like the material more. I'm quite tempted to get a new bikini, I like the look of THIS Raspberry bow one, but I think I might be too pale for it? I also like THIS Play Suit, but I have a dress that's quite similar too it. hmmm.

This weekend I've spent setting up a toad abode with my boyfriend, he bought 2 Fire Bellied Toads and a Fire Bellied Newt, which I named Issac, as in Issac Newton! I thought that was pretty funny of me.

I'm selling my bracelets to raise money for charity this week, then I'm hoping to set up a site to sell them. Keep an eye out!

Oldies.

I've had a nice relaxing weekend, apart from the weird stomach pains I'm having for no reason and the eye infection. Some of Sams family friends came round (who we are going on holiday with in the summer) and we had dinner and yummy chocolate cake.

Then today I went to watch Sam play football like I do every Sunday, but the rain was horrible! And because of my bad tum I sat in the car for most of it. Then we went shopping because I needed some new make up and Sam needed new jeans. I had to get new mascara because of the eye infection and new foundation because my skins gotten really really dry. Maybaline had a 3 for 2 offer on, so I got...

Dream Satin Liquid, in Light Porcelin. I hear its quite good for dry skin, and I am a lover of Dream Matte Mouse when my skin isn't dry! I thought it was worth a try.

Falsies Mascara. I'm not too fussy about mascara to be honest as I have fairly long dark eyelashes anyway. But I've heard good things about this one, and I liked the purple tube!

And a lipgloss that looks a lot like that one. I don't know what colour it is, I just picked a pretty pink one because it was free!
(images from google images)

I haven't got any pictures of me from this weekend because I'm looking a bit weird with my eye infection and things, so I thought I would post a couple of photos that make me smile!

This was from when I was travelling in America and Canada last summer. We were just getting ready to go to watch the Toronto Blue Jays Baseball game. Their Stadium is right at the bottom of the CN tower.

Sam and I at our college leavers ball. This was before we were even together and after we'd had quite a few drinks!!

Some of my friends and me (in the crazy pink ski pants!!) standing at the top of an (unactive) volcanic crater in Iceland. That was the best trip I've ever been on!!

My brother Ben and I lunging at Niagra Falls in Canada last summer. Lunging is a bit of an inside joke with my family. Maybe I'll explain in a future post.

Have a very Happy Valentines Day everyone.
